About the Clubs

Young Explorer’s Club consists of Club members and the supervisor. Club members can be both preschool children and the youth from upper-secondary schools. The minimum number of Club members is 3 persons. Work in Clubs is most effective when there are 8-12 Club members.

Young Explorer’s Club can be established by an adult who has experience in work with children or the youth, is willing to take care of the Club and ready to assume responsibility for students’ safety.

Frequency and duration of meetings are up to the Club supervisor and members. They should be organised regularly, at least once a month. Meetings can take place in a common room at school, classroom, private flat or in the open air in the case of field activities. The Club is wherever there are persons willing to experiment!

Meetings of the Club is time for learning about the world through experiments carried out in a group according to the YEC method. Additionally, Clubs organise Young Explorer’s Festivals and carry out common projects.

In order to facilitate activities of future Club supervisors, the Copernicus Science Centre organises workshops during which future supervisors can acquire knowledge and skills useful in leading a Club. During the workshops, future supervisors can get acquainted with the YEC method thanks to experiments carried out by themselves and the possibility to share experiences with other workshop participants and Coaches leading the workshops.
